Child surfing a small wave with a Surf Lisbon instructor during a kids surf camp in Lisbon.

More Than Surfing

We adapt the lesson to your child’s mood and comfort level. Sometimes that means playing games in the sand, taking a short break, or simply enjoying the water.

✔ Confidence in the water: learn to trust yourself in a new environment.
✔ Ocean awareness: respect for waves, tides, and nature.
✔ Balance & motor skills: through playful exercises and movement games.
✔ Focus & resilience: Falling, trying again, smiling – real growth.
✔ Joy & independence: That “I did it” moment when they stand up.

We teach surfing – but we develop much more.

Frequently Asked Questions

We compiled the most asked questions below. But if you have other questions, don’t hesitate to Kontakt aufnehmen.

Is surfing safe for a 3–8 year old?

Yes. Lessons are private, with certified instructors and gentle conditions.

What if my child is afraid of the water?

We never force. We adapt. Many kids start shy and leave smiling.

What happens if conditions are not safe?

We reschedule. Safety always comes first.

Do parents stay during the lesson?

Yes. You are welcome to watch from the beach.

Do children need to know how to swim?

Not necessarily.
Many young children are still learning to feel comfortable in the water. Our instructors stay close at all times, lessons take place in shallow whitewater, and children always wear a wetsuit that helps with flotation.
The goal is to build confidence in the ocean step by step.

What happens if my child gets scared or tired?

That’s completely normal.
We adapt the lesson to your child’s mood and comfort level. Sometimes that means playing games in the sand, taking a short break, or simply enjoying the water.
There is never any pressure to perform.
