I bought a pack of 10 group lessons for myself and 5 private lessons for my 5-year-old son. I live locally in Lisbon and it’s been super convenient doing lessons with them (I haven't stayed at the house, so this is only a review of the lessons). They offer morning and afternoon sessions and usually let me know the day before whether we'll be surfing in Carcavelos or Caparica, depending on the wave conditions. I’ve had a few different instructors and they’ve all been great. My son’s instructors have been especially patient and encouraging, helping him build confidence in the water and work on balance. Group lesson sizes vary a lot depending on the time of year and people come from all over the world. Practically everyone speaks English, including the instructors, so language hasn't been an issue for me as someone who doesn't speak much Portuguese. They also surf even if the weather isn’t perfect, so a little rain won't stop the lesson. During the day Leonor and Rui would be at the front desk and would keep me company which was well appreciated by me. The Surf House is lovely, it is right opposite the sea and our room had a sea view. The facilities like the kitchen and shared bathrooms were simple, pleasant and clean. The continental breakfast was very nice. We visited in summer so it was a 25 minute drive in their minivan each day to the beach where we surfed. They have facilities behind a restaurant on the beach where you can use the bathroom and change into your wetsuits, leave belongings etc. We were welcomed by Nuno, the owner, who was very friendly and professional. The surf instructors were all brilliant and helped us make the most of whatever the surf conditions were each day. We felt we learnt a lot in the short time we were there. We felt the surf package and stay in the house were excellent value for money. EXCELLENTVerified I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first time surfing! They provided an easy pick up, wet suit and board. Lucas was our instructor and he made the entire day so enjoyable! We had a mix of newbies and slightly experienced surfers but he was able to balance it out so we all had the help/attention needed. You could tell he loves what he does! I felt very safe the whole day and more confident with every attempt! It was so easy to bond and laugh with the others, there was no judgement - just encouragement and support all around!
