General Questions
What makes Surf Lisbon – House & School different from other surf schools?
We’ve been doing this since 2008. Safety, quality instruction, and good vibes are at the core of everything we do. We work with certified instructors, small groups (max. 5 students per instructor) and we always adapt the lesson to your level. It’s not just about surfing — it’s about the full experience.
How can I book surf lessons or accommodation?

What do I need to bring to a surf lesson?
Just bring your swimwear, a towel, sunscreen and good mood. We take care of everything else — board, wetsuit and insurance are included.
Is there an age limit for surf lessons?
Not at all. Surf doesn’t check your age ;). We welcome kids, adults and everyone in between. Lessons are always adapted to age and experience.
Accommodation
What kind of rooms do you have at the Surf House?
We offer both private and shared rooms in a beautiful old house right by the sea, with 3 spacious shared toilets. Simple, comfortable and full of surf spirit.
Are sheets and towels included?
Yes, bed linen and shower towels are included. Please bring your own beach towel or rent one from us (10€ for your entire stay).
Is breakfast included?
Yes! A fresh breakfast is included every morning — and it’s one of our guests’ favorite moments of the day.
Do you have common areas?
Yes. We have shared spaces to relax and/or work after surfing, hang your clothes and meet other mind-liked surf travellers.
Surf Lessons
What levels do you teach?
All levels. Complete beginners, intermediates and more experienced surfers. We always group people by level. If you are not sure about your level, don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll help you figure it out.
Do you provide surfboards and wetsuits?
Yes, always. Equipment and insurance are included in every lesson.
How long is a surf lesson?
Each lesson lasts around 2 hours, including beach briefing, warm up and most of the time in the water. It does not included the transfer time from Lisbon centre (meeting point), which is around 15-20min each way, depending if we go to Carcavelos or Caparica.
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes. You can choose between group lessons or private lessons, depending on what you’re looking for.
Is surfing safe?
We take safety seriously, and yours comes first. Our instructors are certified, groups are small, equipment is appropriate and everyone is insured.
Surf & Stay packages
What’s included in the surf & stay packages?
Accommodation, breakfast, surf lessons, all equipment, insurance and transport to and from the beach. Airport pick-up and drop-off can be arranged at an extra fee.
How long can I stay?
Packages are flexible — from short stays to full surf weeks (min 2 nights stay).
Are meals included?
Breakfast is included. For lunch and dinner, we usually go to local spots or give you great recommendations. We also have a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare all your meals, as well as a BBQ on our comfy backyard.
Are these packages suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. Many of our guests start surfing with us for the first time.
Groups & Team building
What kind of corporate events do you organise?
We organise surf-based team building days and experiences for companies and groups.
Can you handle big groups?
Yes, from small teams to larger groups. We adapt everything to your needs.
Why is surfing good for team building?
It’s fun, challenging and puts everyone out of their comfort zone in a positive way — great for teamwork, communication and shared memories.
Can the experience be customised?
Of course. We tailor each event depending on goals, group size and timing.
Booking & Cancellations
How does booking work?
You can book online or contact us directly. Once confirmed, we’ll send you all the details you need — we take care of the logistics, so you can focus on the surfing.
What’s the cancellation policy?
If you need to change a lesson, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice.
Are lessons refundable?
Surf lessons are non-refundable once booked, but we always try to be flexible and reschedule it.

What can I do around Surf Lisbon?

How far are you from Lisbon city centre?
Less than 20 minutes by public transport or 15 minutes by Uber.

Yes, a couple of beach restaurants and cafés are just a short walk away.
